Rymer Releases 2022 Salem Volleyball Schedule

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Salem head coach Barry Rymer announced the team's 2022 schedule on Wednesday, June 29th. The Spirits will play in 31 total matches, including 10 at Varsity Gym, where the season begins on Tuesday, September 6th versus Johnson & Wales.

After making their first home debut since 2012, the Spirits will head to Lynchburg, Va., to clash with Randolph on September 7th. Two days later, Salem returns to the Commonwealth of Virginia for a two-day, four-match tournament that will pit the Spirits against N.C. Wesleyan, Roanoke, Randolph and Hollins. After a brief return to Varsity Gym on September 13th, where Salem will clash with Ferrum, the Spirits will head to Brevard, N.C., to face Huntingdon, Bob Jones and LaGrange on September 16-17.

The Spirits host intercity rival Greensboro on September 21st, marking the first USA South Conference clash of the campaign. League play continues three days later when Salem heads to Staunton, Va., to square off against Methodist and Mary Baldwin. September concludes with a series of home matches against Hollins (September 26) and Southern Virginia (September 29).

Salem opens October with a trio of road contests against William Peace (October 1), N.C. Wesleyan (October 1) and Brevard (October 4). Four days after clashing with the Tornadoes, Salem will hold a tri-match at Varsity Gym against Meredith and Pfeiffer. A quick trip to nearby Greensboro, on October 12th, will be followed by the Spirits heading to Fayetteville, N.C., to clash with Mary Baldwin and Methodist on October 15th.

Roanoke makes its first-ever appearance at Varsity Gym on October 17th, followed by a match at Southern Virginia three days later. USA South Conference foes N.C. Wesleyan and William Peace on Saturday, October 22nd, before the Spirits make the quick trip to Charlotte, N.C., for their final non-conference tilt of the slate against Johnson & Wales on October 25th.

The home portion of the schedule concludes with a match against Brevard (October 27) and the regular season draws to a close on the road in Meisenheimer, N.C., when the Spirits clash with Meredith and Pfeiffer on October 29th.
