Volleyball falls just short at Greensboro

Greensboro, NC-The Salem College volleyball team came up just short in a road match at Greensboro College. The back and forth affair saw Greensboro nab the last three points to win 3-2 (Salem 30-Greensboro 28, 16-25, 25-16, 12-25, 17-15). The Spirits fall to 4-4 for the season.

Salem started strong and pulled out a hotly contested first set in extra points. After Greensboro cruised through the second and fourth set, and the Spirits dominated the third set, the teams went to the final fifth set. It went back and forth and Salem held a match point at 15-14, before the Pride were able to win the last three points and the match.

Taylor Moulton led the Spirits with 22 digs, while Kylie Taffer had 12 and Madelynn Chappell had 10. Hannah Delcamp had a stellar 40 set assists and added 20 digs. Mariah Sharon led the team with 22 digs, while Taffer had 18 and Moulton had 15. Bernisha Master had 1 solo block and 3 block assists. Taffer led the team with 2 service aces. 

The Spirits will host a quad match this Friday in the Salem Gym.
