Volleyball loses two close home USA South matches

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball team hosted their first two USA South home matches. Even though they didn't pick up a win, the Spirits proved they can play with any team in their new conference. They fell 1-3 to Methodist (25-22, 15-25, 15-25, 22-25) and to 1-3 to William Peace (21-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-21). The Spirits are now 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the USA South, while Methodist improves to 5-10 and 1-1 and William Peace improves to 11-3 and 2-1.

In both matches, the Spirits came out on fire and were able to take a first set win. Taylor Moulton had a team high 29 kills in the two matches, and Kylie Taffer added 22 digs. Hannah Delcamp had 84 set assists for the day, and also led the Spirits with 6 service aces. Mariah Sharon had 38 digs and Moulton added 25. Bernisha Master led the Spirits with 2 solo blocks and 4 block assists.

Salem plays two more important conference home matches today against Averett at 1:00 and Greensboro at 7:00.
