Volleyball loses to Covenant and nationally ranked Emory

Lookout Mountain, GA-The Salem College volleyball team played on the road today against one of the top teams in the USA South, Covenant, and one of the top teams in the nation, Emory. Covenant won 25-13, 25-16, 25-16. Emory, ranked fifth in the nation, won 25-10, 25-11, 25-17. Salem falls to 6-14, while Covenant improves to 11-9 and Emory improves to 15-3. 

Kylie Taffer led the team with 5 kills against Covenant. Taylor Moulton, playing as the setter in place of Hannah Delcamp, had 12 assists. Mariah Sharon led the team with 10 digs and Moulton had 8 digs. Rachael Kerr and Bernisha Master each had 2 blocks.

Against Emory, Moulton had 9 set assists and 7 digs to lead the Spirits. Taffer led the team with 6 kills, and she had the only service ace of the day for Salem. 

The Spirits return home this week as they host Hollins on Monday and Piedmont on Tuesday.
