South Lenoir's Turner commits to play softball at Salem

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College softball program is excited to announce that Faith Turner committed to attend Salem next fall. Turner played for Coach Lisa Smith and Thurman Pate at South Lenoir High School in North Carolina. The Spirits softball team will begin a full schedule including Great South Athletic Conference play during the 2011-2012 school year.

Turner was the Kinston Press All-Area High School Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year in 2009-2010. She was also First Team All-State last year, and on the all-region team. Turner helped lead her team to the NC East Region runner-ups and third in the state in 2010. She plays club softball for Coach Jody Turner with the EC Shockers.

Turner is an excellent student at South Lenoir. She has been a member of the A/B Honor Roll. She was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, student council, and prom committee. She is the daughter of Stephanie and Jody Turner.
