Softball celebrated seniors with two victories

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College softball team celebrated its three seniors by crushing Wesleyan 6-1 and 9-1. The Spirits honored Emily DeVane (Lillington, NC), Kristi Morton (Trussville, AL), and Kaitlyn Horner (Elkhart, IN) before the double-header. Morton capped off senior day with a home-run in her first at-bat.

Morton is graduating with a double-major of communications and exercise science. She is a two-year Great South All-Conference player and is on her way to another all-conference year this season. 

Morton is currently hitting .409 with a .452 on base percentage. Morton has 7 doubles, 1 triple, and 1 home run for the season. She has played predominately at center-field this season. 

DeVane is graduating with a degree in mathematics, and a teaching degree for kindergarten through 12th grade. She is a three-year member of the team. DeVane is currently hitting .250. She has played left-field this season. 

Horner is graduating with a degree in sociology. This is her first year on the team. She was a volunteer coach this fall. She is currently hitting .208, and has played in both left and right field.
