Softball loses two at Randolph

Lynchburg, VA-The Salem College softball team could not keep their win streak alive as they dropped two games at Randolph College. Randolph won 8-4 and 9-3. Amber Bass (Clinton, NC) and Morgan Coleman (Colfax, NC) each had 3 total hits. Salem falls to 7-13, while Randolph improves to 17-6.

The Spirits scored all 4 of their runs in game 1 in the top of the fourth, when they came back fro a 4-3 lead. Randolph would score the last five runs of that game. Salem scored 1 run in the 2nd, 1 in the 5th, and 1 in the 7th in the 2nd game. 

Kayla Kennedy (Goldsboro, NC) and Kristi Morton (Trussville, AL) each had 2 hits for the day. Coleman and Lauryn Smith (King, NC) led the Spirits with 3 runs batted in. Smith hit a triple in game 1. Morton and Kierston Garner (Danbury, NC) each scored 2 runs. 

The Spirits play two very important home games on Saturday against conference rival Agnes Scott at 1:00 and 3:00.
