Softball set for Great South Tournament at Agnes Scott

Decatur, GA-The Salem College softball team will head to Georgia for the 2014 Great South Softball Tournament. The Spirits finished the regular season with a 14-18 overall record and a 6-2 mark in the Great South. The Spirits will be the two-seed in the seven-team tournament.

The tournament is a double-elimination bracket and will be hosted at Georgia Tech University. The Spirits will play their first game on Friday at noon against Rust. The Spirits easily defeated Rust twice at home earlier this season.

Morgan Coleman (Colfax, NC) is fourth in the conference in batting average (.459) and she leads the conference in runs batted in (29). Lauryn Smith (King, NC) has been hot on the mound the last four starts and leads the conference with 8 wins.
