Basketball picks up big win at Hollins

Roanoke, VA-The Salem College basketball team dominated Hollins in the second half to pull away for a 66-52 win. The Spirits were led by the second straight double-doubles by Kristal Lollis and Quantashea Lewis. Salem improves to 4-11, while Hollins falls to 2-17.

The first-half went back and forth between the two teams. Hollins jumped out to a 12-3 lead in the first 4 minutes, before Salem clawed back to make it 33-31 Hollins at the break. The Spirits came out on fire in the second half, and went on a 14-2 run over the first 8 minutes. They cruised the rest of the way for the win.

Lewis finished with a game-high 19 points and she added 10 rebounds. Lollis finished with a game-high 12 rebounds and she added 12 points. Zykeya Henderson led the team with 5 steals and 5 assists, and she added 9 points.

The Spirits return to Great South action this Saturday when they host Wesleyan at 2:00. The game will be a charity event to raise money for Play 4 Kay.
