Basketball wins third in a row to celebrate seniors

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team picked up their third-straight win as they defeated Washington Adventist 58-51. The Spirits celebrated three outstanding seniors (Zykeya Henderson, Kristal Lollis, and Michelle Morgan), who played in their last home game. Lollis had a strong game with 14 points and a game-high 9 rebounds. The Spirits improve to 6-11 overall.

Salem controlled most of the afternoon on the court. They went ahead early and held a 34-25 lead at the break. The Spirits jumped as far ahead as 16 points in the second half. Adventist was able to cut the score to 7, but that was as close as they could get.

Sabrina Shepherd led the Spirits with 17 points. Quantashea Lewis finished with 12 points. Lewis, Lollis, and Shepherd all had 4 assists. Lollis led the team with 4 steals. Hannah McBride finished with 7 rebounds. 

The Spirits held a 37-29 advantage on the boards. They forced 24 turnovers by Adventist.

Salem hits the road next weekend to conclude their regular season with two important Great South games. They will play Agnes Scott on Saturday the 21st at 2:00, and they play Wesleyan Sunday at 2:00.
