Basketball Winning Streak Snapped Against Ferrum

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College basketball team had their four game winning streak snapped at home against Ferrum 85-70. The Spirits held the contest close throughout the first half before the Panthers had a strong third quarter to break the game open. Tyler Davenport led Salem with 21 points. Salem falls to 8-11 overall and 6-6 in the USA South East Division, while Ferrum improves to 11-9 overall and 9-2 in the conference. 

The Panthers held a 24-15 lead after the first quarter before Salem had a strong end to the half and cut the lead to 42-35. Ferrum exploded for 29 points in the third quarter. 

Mikayla Seivers had 18 points for Salem, while Sabrina Shepherd added 16. Aaliyah Webb led the Spirits with 8 rebounds, and Seivers had 7 boards. Davenport had a team-high 3 steals, Shepherd led the team with 3 blocks, and Seivers had 5 assists. 

Salem will travel to Pfeiffer during the week, before they host two important conference games next weekend against William Peace and Averett.
