NCCSIA ANNOUNCES NORTH CAROLINA ALL-STATE
COLLEGE DIVISION WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM
MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Eleven student-athletes from seven schools form the 2007 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State Women’s Soccer Team, released Tuesday.
Methodist University heads the All-State Team with three students for the second straight year, while Catawba College and Greensboro College both have two selections. Methodist senior Chrystal Bradley, a midfielder from Fairfax, Va., is the lone unanimous selection. Mount Olive College midfielder April Jacobs becomes the first four-time college division women’s soccer all-state pick.
The team consists of students from NCAA Division II and Division III colleges and universities throughout the state. North Carolina sports information professionals submitted nominees and NCCSIA members selected the teams. The all-state unit consists of one goalkeeper, three defenders, four midfielders and three forwards.
Founded in 2002, NCCSIA is comprised of sports information professionals from North Carolina’s NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions for the purpose of promoting college athletics in the state. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina whose responsibilities include sports information.
NCCSIA selects all-state teams in the university (NCAA Division I) and college (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, softball and baseball. Over 500 student-athletes have been recognized on all-state teams since 2003.
