Eastern Guilford's Lawler commits to play soccer for Salem College

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer program is excited to announce the addition of Michelle Lawler who committed to attend Salem next fall. Lawler had a successful career for Coach Walt Harper at Eastern Guilford High School in Gibsonville, NC. She also played for Coaches Wes Lewis and Larry Hobbs at the Guilford United Football Club (GUFC).

Lawler was an all-conference selection and team most valuable player during her career at Eastern Guilford. The team won their conference championship in 2008. She also helped her GUFC squad to the Singer Challenge State Championship game in 2009. 

While at Eastern Guilford, Lawler was a member of several clubs. She was selected as a Junior Marshall, and she was a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club. Lawler plans on majoring in accounting during her time at Salem. She is the daughter of Karen and Bob Lawler.

Salem College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the United States, and was founded in 1772. The institution boasts a proud history of fostering independence in women. Salem was recently ranked number 67 in Forbes magazines second annual ranking of America's 600 best colleges, and as Forbes' number fourteen in their "America's Best College Buys" Top 100.
