LaGrange, GA- The Salem College soccer team defeated LaGrange 6-1 today on the road. Sabrina Thiel (Hillsboro, OH) and Tia Bringhurst (Hurricane, UT) each had two goals for the Spirits. Salem improves to 6-3-1 on the season.

Thiel got the Spirits on the board in the 7th minute off of an assist by Erica Edwards (Clayton, NC). Bringhurst would score an unassisted goal eight minutes later. LaGrange scored in the 29th minute, but Tara Madden (Greenville, SC) scored three minutes later on a pass by Thiel. The game went into the half with the Spirits up 3-1.

Thiel scored three minutes into the second half. Bringhurst pushed the score to 5-1 in the 57th minute off of a pass by Madden. Samantha Hubbard (Sanford, NC) finished off the scoring for Salem. Jazmine Bridgeman (Mill Spring, NC) and Brittany Tedrick (Batavia, OH) combined in goal for the Spirits. Salem outshot LaGrange 23-2, and had 4 corner kicks to 1.

Salem returns to action in two days as they head to Randolph in Lynchburg, VA.
