Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer program is excited to announce the addition of Amanda Orsino who committed to attend Salem next fall. Orsino was a star forward for Coach Tim Clive at Sauquoit Valley High School in Sauquoit, New York.

Orsino co-captained her high school to the 2009 New York Public High School Soccer Class C Championship game this past fall. She scored the Indian's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Stony Brook High School. Orsino was honored for her outstanding senior year by being selected as the Mohawk Valley Conference Player of the Year. She was also placed on the New York Class C All-State team this year, and scored 21 goals with 24 assists as a senior. Orsino was a five-year varsity member, a five-time Scholar-Athlete, and a four-time Center State First-Team All Star.

Along with her excellent play on the soccer field, Amanda was also an outstanding volleyball and softball player. She was Student Council President at Sauquoit Valley, a member of the National Honor Society, and a member of InterACT.

The daughter of Fred and Colleen, Orsino plans to major in mathematics with a minor in coaching while at Salem.

Salem College is an NCAA Division III institution located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the United States, and was founded in 1772.
