Soccer beats Ferrum to end regular season

Winston-Salem, NC- The Salem College soccer team defeated Ferrum College 1-0 to finish the regular season with eleven wins. Tatum Justice (Jacksonville, NC) scored in the 25th minute to give the Spirits the win. Salem celebrated two seniors, Michala Michaux (Morganton, NC) and Tori Collier (Raleigh, NC), who played their last home regular season match. Salem improves to 11-6-1 with the win.

Jazmine Bridgeman (Mill Springs, NC) earned her 5th shutout of the season in goal, and recorded two saves. Salem outshot Ferrum 12-3, including outshooting them 7-0 in the second half. The Spirits also had 7 corners to 2 by Ferrum.  Collier and Michaux have each been starters all four years at Salem.

The Spirits return to action this weekend when they host Spelman College in the first-round of the GSAC Tournament. The game is slated to start at noon on the 31st.
