Maryville, TN-The Salem College soccer team suffered its worst defeat of the season to Maryville College, 3-0. Maryville used a strong ten-minute first half stretch to score all three goals. Salem falls to 7-5-1, while Maryville improves to 7-2-1.
Jessica Peterson assisted one goal and scored two goals between the 15th and 25th minute of the game for all three Maryville goals. Salem picked up its play for the remainder of the match. The game was fairly even in the second half. Jazmine Bridgeman (Hope Mills, NC) had 15 saves for the Spirits.
Salem returns to action this weekend with two home matches against Hollins on the 17th at noon, and Spelman on the 18th at noon.
