Winston-Salem, NC- The Salem College soccer team will hope to use its strong group of returners, and large incoming class to have a successful season in the Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) this fall. The team will return eleven players, has thirteen incoming players.

Head Coach Jay Callahan says “We have our most talent and most depth ever coming into a season for Salem soccer, and I hope it helps us have a strong GSAC showing, against some tough opponents.”

Tatum Justice, a sophomore from Jacksonville, NC, was selected to the All-Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) First-Team honors last year. The team will also rely heavily on its two seniors, Tori Collier (Raleigh, NC) and Michala Michaux (Morganton, NC), who both received AD3I Second Team honors last fall. Samantha Hubbard, a sophomore from Sanford, NC, also received AD3I third-team honors.

“In all we have nine players who have received end-of-the-year honors for us in the past two years, and with 11 strong incoming first-years, we should have a lot to work with,” says Callahan.

The team opens play on September 1^st as they host Peace at 4:00. The team will begin GSAC conference play at Georgia Wesleyan on September 19^th.
