Soccer bounces back with victory over Guilford

Raleigh, NC-The Salem College soccer team defeated Guilford College 3-1 in a non-conference match at the Meredith College Classic. After falling down 1-0, Salem had three different players score to secure the victory. The Spirits improve to 1-1, while Guilford falls to 2-1.

Meghan Millspaugh (Somersworth, NH) scored in the 39th minute of the first-half to tie the game that the Quakers led since the 20th minute. Millspaugh was assisted by Amanda Orsino (Sauqouit, NY).

Sawyer Ferguson (Billings, MT) scored an unassisted goal to give Salem their first lead in the 58th minute. Orsino scored in the 85th minute to put the game away on an assist by Taylor Norman (Springfield, VA). Jessi Carter (Tampa, FL) finished with 6 saves for the Spirits.

Salem hosts their first home match of the season against Greensboro College on September 7th at 4:00.
