Soccer improves record to 6-3-1 with win against Wesleyan

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team picked up a Great South conference win with a 5-0 defeat of Wesleyan College. It took Salem 27 shots to tally a goal, but Sam Hubbard (Sanford, NC) was able to open up the scoring for the Spirits. Salem improves to 2-1 in the Great South and to 6-3-1 on the season.

Hubbard's goal was assisted by Anna Trakas (Tryon, NC). Erica Edwards (Raleigh, NC) scored the second Spirits goal of the afternoon assisted by Amanda Orsino (Sauqouit, NY). Anna Trakas (Tryon, NC) scored next off of an assist by Nataly Mojica (Dallas, TX). Laurel Dodds (Winston-Salem, NC) scored her first collegiate goal off of an assist by MacKenzie Schmidt (Columbus, OH). Mojica finished off the score on a pass by Schmidt. Jessi Carter (Tampa, FL) had the shutout in goal. Salem outshot the Pioneers 55-0, and had a 10-1 corner kick advantage.

The Spirits return to action tomorrow on the road at Peace College at 2:00.
