Soccer improves to 5-1 with win at Warren Wilson

Asheville, NC-The Salem College soccer team won their fifth game in a row in a 4-0 non-conference victory at Warren Wilson this afternoon. Amanda Orsino (Sauquoit, NY) scored two goals for the Spirits. Salem improves to 5-1 overall on the season.

Nataly Mojica (Dallas, TX) got the scoring started for Salem in the 13th minute on an assist by Bethany Kent (Manassas, VA). Orsino scored her first goal in the 27th minute on an assist by Sawyer Ferguson (Billings, MT). Anna Trakas (Tryon, NC) scored an unassisted goal in the 46th minute, and Orsino scored on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute.

Salem controlled much of the play for the entire game. They out shot Warren Wilson 22-1, and had a 6-0 corner kick edge. Jessi Carter (Tampa, FL) recorded her second shutout in a row.

The Spirits quickly return to the road this Tuesday as they travel to play Averett at 5:00.
