Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team showed team resilience for the second game in a row to defeat Greensboro College 2-1. Nataly Mojica (Dallas, TX) scored the game-winning goal for the Spirits in the 85th minute to give Salem a come from behind win in their first home match of the year. The Spirits improve to 2-1 overall, while Greensboro drops to 2-1 on the season.

Greensboro scored in the 38th minute and controlled much of the play in the first half. The second half was a different story, as Salem missed several good scoring chances before Sawyer Ferguson (Billings, MT) scored in the 81st minute to tie the game on an assist by Laurel Dodds (Winston-Salem, NC). Salem kept the pressure on and Mojica finished a corner by Bethany Kent (Manassas, VA) just four minutes later to give Salem the lead and the win.

Greensboro out shot Salem 17-11, and Salem held a 4-3 corner kick advantage. Taylor Barcom (Anchorage, AK) came up with 10 saves in the game for the Spirits. Salem returns to action at home on September 14th when they host Hollins at 5:00.
