Hubbard earns All-South Atlantic Region honors for second time

Kansas City, KS-For the second year in a row, Stephanie Hubbard (Sanford, NC) has

earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Atlantic Region Honors. Last year, Hubbard became the 1st Salem athlete ever to earn all-region honors, and she repeated it again this year with a strong junior campaign.

"It is a great honor for Steph to receive All-South Atlantic Region again this year," said Head Soccer Coach Jay Callahan. "She had another stellar year on the field, and she really stepped up her leadership both on and off the field."

Hubbard led the team as a team captain to a 16-3-1 overall record an Great South Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship. She was the only soccer player selected from the entire Great South conference. Hubbard was placed on the South Atlantic Third-Team as a defender.

She helped lead the Spirits to only allowing 15 total goals this season. Hubbard scored 6 goals and had 3 assists for 15 points as a defender.  She was selected to the Great South All-Conference team for the 3rd straight year, the GSAC All-Academic Team for the 2nd time, and was a GSAC Player of the Week.
