Soccer earns huge win at home against Covenant

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team earned a huge conference win to move into a 1st place tie with Covenant. Salem defeated Covenant 1-0 today in a closely played game. Salem improves to 12-3 overall and 6-1 in the Great South, and Covenant falls to 11-3-1 overall and 6-1 in the Great South.

Tarryn Bundy (West Deptford, NJ) scored the only goal of the game in the 62nd minute. Paige Ketchum (Jacksonville, NC) came up huge in goal with 7 saves, and the Spirits defense earned their 5th shutout in a row.

Both Salem and Covenant have 3 remaining Great South matches to see who wins the GSAC regular season title. The Spirits start with a big game against a very strong Agnes Scott team this Saturday at 3:00.
