Soccer defeats Agnes Scott 4-0 on the road

Decatur, GA-The Salem College soccer team picked up a big win in their attempt for their second straight Great South Regular Season Crown with a 4-0 win at Agnes Scott. The Spirits scored two goals in each half to pick up the win. Salem improves to 8-3-2 overall and to 3-0 against Great South opponents. 

Tarryn Bundy (West Deptford, NJ) started the scoring in the 29th minute with an unassisted goal. Deanna Andrews (Climax, NC) scored 10 minutes later on a pass by MacKenzie Schmidt (Columbus, OH). 

It only took a little over a minute into the 2nd half for Salem to grab a 3-0 lead on a Taylor Norman (Fairfax, VA) goal assisted by Schmidt. In the 67th minute, Courtney Hedgecock (San Diego, CA) headed a ball destined for the goal that was blocked by an Agnes Scott defender's hand. Schmidt scored a penalty kick as a result to cap off the scoring. 

Salem had a dominating 31-7 shot advantage, including 16-4 in shots on goal. Paige Ketchum (Jacksonville, NC) and Kenzie Rathe (Cloquet, MN) earned the shut-out for Salem.  

The Spirits return to action on the road tomorrow when they take on USC Lancaster at 2:00.
