Soccer earns tenth win for fifth straight year

Macon, GA-The Salem College soccer team earned their tenth win in a 7-1 against Judson. Salem is one of only 29 teams out of 447 NCAA Division III teams to win at least 10 games the each of the past 5 years. Sawyer Ferguson (Billings, MT) scored 4 goals for Salem. The Spirits improve to 10-3-2. 

Ferguson scored in the 10th minute on an assist by Bethany Kent (Manassas, VA). Tarryn Bundy (West Deptford, NJ) scored 5 minutes later on an assist by Stephanie Hubbard (Sanford, NC). Hubbard and Kent assisted Courtney Hedgecock two minutes later. Ferguson scored an unassisted goal in the 23rd minute. Judson scored in the 43rd minute to make it 4-1 at half. 

Ferguson scored again in the 55th minute on an assist by MacKenzie Schmidt (Columbus, OH). Ferguson finished a goal in the 59th minute with Kent assisting. Schmidt concluded the scoring in the 64th minute. 

Kenzie Rathe (Cloquet, MN) earned the win in goal. Salem out-shot Judson 42-1 and had a 9-2 corner kick advantage. 

The Spirits return to Great South action tomorrow when they take on Wesleyan at 7:00.
