Soccer moves to 7-3-2 with 10-0 win at Trinity Washington

Washington, D.C.-The Salem College soccer team scored two goals in the first two minutes to cruise to a 10-0 road win at Trinity Washington. The Spirits tied their team record with 53 shots, and Taylor Norman (Fairfax, VA) finished with two goals. Salem improves to 7-3-2 overall, and 2-0 against Great South opponents.

Nataly Mojica (Dallas, TX) scored one minute into the game on a pass by MacKenzie Schmidt (Columbus, OH). Schmidt would assist on a Norman goal only twenty seconds later. Tarryn Bundy (West Deptford, NJ) scored in the 21st minute on a pass by Stephanie Hubbard (Sanford, NC). Victoria Chaffers (Deltona, FL) scored her first goal of the season in the 28th minute on a corner kick by Bethany Kent (Manassas, VA). The Spirits went into the break with a 4-0 lead.

Summer Rich (Morehead City, NC) scored in the 51st minute on a cross by Mojica. Morgan Canepa (Elko, NV) scored ten minutes later on an unassisted goal, and Hubbard scored two minutes later on a pass by Bundy. Norman scored another goal assisted by Schmidt in the 69th minute. Deanna Andrews (Climax, NC) scored in the 73rd minute, and Kent finished off the scoring in the 86th minute on a pass by Amber Lee (Summerville, SC).

Salem out-shot Trinity 53-1 and had a 24-0 corner kick advantage. Paige Ketchum (Jacksonville, NC) and Kenzie Rathe (Cloquet, MN) split the shut-out in goal.

Salem returns to play Agnes Scott on the road on October 12th at 1:00.
