Soccer wins GSAC Regular Season title to celebrate seniors

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team won their 8th game in a row to clinch the Great South Regular Season Championship for the second year in a row. The Spirits defeated GSAC rival, Agnes Scott, 1-0 to remain undefeated in conference play, and they have not allowed a goal in any conference match. Salem improves to 13-3-2 overall.

MacKenzie Schmidt (Columbus, OH) headed in a Nataly Mojica (Dallas, TX) cross in the 87th minute for the win. Paige Ketchum (Jacksonville, NC) earned the shut-out in goal. Salem controlled most of the game and had a 28-6 shot advantage in their last regular season game. 

Salem celebrated seniors Paige Hamilton (Columbus, OH), Courtney Hedgecock (San Diego, CA), Stephanie Hubbard (Sanford, NC), Bethany Kent (Manassas, VA), Michelle Lawler (Gibsonville, NC) and Schmidt following the game. This senior class currently has a 55-14-5 overall record. 

The Spirits will return to action the weekend of November 8th, when they host the Great South tournament for the first time ever. The Spirits will be the #1 seed and earn a first-round bye.
