Soccer's comeback attempt falls short against Bridgewater

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team lost at home 2-1 to Bridgewater in non-conference action today. Taylor Norman (Fairfax, VA) scored in the 81st minute. Salem falls to 4-2-2 on the season.

Bridgewater jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute on a deflected shot. They would score again in the 72nd minute. Salem cut the lead in half on Norman's goal with an assist by Tarryn Bundy (West Deptford, NJ). The Spirits pounded on the door for the next ten minutes, but they could not find the equalizing goal.

Each team finished the game with 4 corner kicks. Bridgewater held an 18-15 shot advantage, and Salem had 8 shots on goal to 6 on goal by the Eagles.

The Spirits return to action this Saturday at 1:00 in their first Great South match of the season against Wesleyan.
