Sweet Briar, VA- The Salem College Volleyball Team traveled to Virginia Thursday evening and played Sweet Briar College in a non-conference volleyball match. The Spirits battled hard as they split the first two games 13-30 and 30-26. Sweet Briar (3-24) came back to take the final two with 30-23 and 30-19 victories.

Katie Lineberger (Jr., Maiden, NC) led the Spirits with 15 kills, 7 blocks, 5 digs and 3 aces. Whitney Sorenson (Jr., Glendale, AZ) had 12 kills 7 digs, 5 aces and 3 blocks. Christine Tillman (FY, King, NC) had 11 kills, 6 blocks, 6 digs and one ace. Latricia Maye (FY, Vestavia, AL) had 6 kills and 3 blocks.

“Katie and Latricia played well tonight,” said Coach Ziemba. “Our serving errors were the difference tonight. We hope to bounce back Friday night as we host Randolph College.”
