Fayetteville, NC- Salem volleyball (0-5) fell to Methodist University (3-1) in three sets tonight (13-25, 20-25, 24-26). The Spirits steadily improved throughout the three sets, taking the final set to extra points.
Salem battled back in the final set to force extra points. The Monarchs had match point at 24-22, but Salem was resilient and fought back to tie the match 24-24. Methodist was able to take the final two points to win the set and the match.
Christine Tillman led the team with 10 kills. She also tied Jordan Edwards, Katie Lineberger, and Sara Maher with 8 digs. Edwards, Lineberger, and Nicole Swinney each had 1 service ace.
Salem returns to the court on September 6 to battle Spelman at 2:00 pm and Montreat at 6:00 pm.
