Surry Community College's Durham commits to play volleyball at Salem

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball program is excited to announce that Cassie Durham committed to attend Salem this season. Durham played middle hitter for Jan Marion-Kiser at Surry Community College and for Tim Shelton at Surry Central High School in North Carolina.

While playing at Surry Central, Durham was an all-conference performer, all-tournament, and most valuable player. She was an all-region performer at Surry Community College, and was ranked 16th nationally for blocking and sixty-first for hitting.

Durham plans to major in Business at Salem. She is the daughter of Cappi Shelton and James G. Durham.

Salem College is a NCAA Division III institution located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the United States, and was founded in 1772. The institution boasts a proud history of fostering independence in women. Salem was recently ranked number 67 in Forbes magazines second annual ranking of America's 600 best colleges, and as Forbes' number fourteen in their "America's Best College Buys" Top 100.
