Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College Director of Athletics, Melissa Barrett, is pleased to announce that Dana Wall will become the third coach in the NCAA era of the Salem Volleyball Program. Wall will replace Amanda Ziemba, who resigned in May to spend more time with her family.

Wall comes to Salem with over 3 decades of experience as a player, instructor, and coach. She is currently the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) North Carolina State Chair and Director, and will be a delegate at this years AAU National Convention.

Wall’s coaching experience includes assisting at the Division I level at Cal State Dominguez Hills. She also coached club volleyball in California for many years at Seal Beach Volleyball Club and Fluid Volleyball Club. She has several years of high school coaching experience, which mostly recently includes The Elon School in Burlington, NC. She coached Elon to a third Place finish in 2010 and a first place finish in 2011 in the North Carolina Private School 1A State Championships.

Wall was a coach for "Team Nfinity" during the summer of 2011, which finished in eighth at the European Global Challenge in Croatia. The team was composed of local college players from Salem, Lees McRae, and UNC-Greensboro. Wall has been taking teams to the European Challenge since 2008 with the USA High Performance Program; she was the Beach Volleyball Coordinator for USA HP in the Carolina Region for the last 2 years.

A San Diego native, she had a stellar playing career at San Diego State University, where she was a middle blocker and the team was ranked as high as fourth nationally in the NCAA Division I. She still holds the record for block solos in a match with 8, and she is in the top 5 at SDSU for career block solos and season block solos. As a player, she has multiple US Open National Championships and an AAU National Championship under her belt. She has been a US Open First Team All-American five times.  She is a former contract player for the Women's Professional Beach Volleyball Association (WPVA).

Wall is IMPACT certified through USA Volleyball for both Beach and Indoor volleyball. She is currently a member of the AAU, USA Volleyball and the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
