Former player Tillman hired as volleyball assistant

Winston-Salem, NC-Head Coach Amanda Ziemba has announced that Christine Tillman (King, NC) has been hired as the volleyball assistant coach at Salem College for this upcoming season. Tillman was a four-year starter as an middle blocker for the Spirits, and she holds several all-time records at Salem.

Tillman was a two-time Great South Athletic All-Conference player, and two-time Association of Division III All-Independent Team member in her four years at Salem. She was also a two-time Great South All-Academic team member. Tillman holds records at Salem in career kills, aces, blocks, and digs.

Tillman has been a coach for the Champion Volleyball Club (CVC) at First Christian Assembly School since 2008. She is currently the Assistant Club Director and Vice President for CVC. She schedules, recruits and runs tryouts for the club in addition to player selection for a variety of age groups. Tillman has helped grow the club from two age groups up to seven.

She received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education this past spring from Salem, and she is currently a teacher.
