Volleyball drops final two matches at Gallaudet

Washington, D.C.-The Salem College volleyball team lost their final 2 matches at the Gallaudet University Invitational. The Spirits lost 3-0 to Allegheny (19-25, 5-25, 10-25) and 3-2 to Rowan (25-22, 24-26, 24-26, 25-23, 16-18). Salem falls to 2-17 on the season.

After a tough morning match against Allegheny, the Spirits played a very close 5 set match against Rowan. Salem would take the first set, before losing 2 extra-point sets to fall behind 2-1. The Spirits came back to win the 4th set, before falling in an extremely close last set.

Brittany Miller (Hays, NC) led the Spirits with 42 digs in the 2 matches. Randi Roppolo (Weeki Wachee, FL) had 15 total kills. Emily Devane (Lillington, NC) led the Spirits with 28 set assists in the 2 matches.

Salem returns to the road on October 11th as they head across town to play Piedmont Baptist College at 7:00.
