Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball team lost two home matches today. They lost this morning to Covenant in a non-conference match 3-0. They dropped an afternoon conference match against Maryville 3-1 (25-22, 13-25, 13-25, 20-25). Salem falls to 2-12 overall and 0-3 in the Great South.

The Spirits started out the Maryville match by putting the Scots on their heels and taking the first game. Maryville was able to recover and win the next three games and the match.

Randi Roppolo (Weeki Wachee, FL) led Salem against Maryville with 9 kills, 10 digs, and 1 service ace. Brittani Stewart (Mocksville, NC) added 8 kills. Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) led the Spirits with 17 set assists and two service aces. Brittany Miller (Hays, NC) had 16 digs to lead the Spirits, and Ty Graham (Pink Hill, NC) had 1 solo block and 3 block assists.

The Spirits return to the road on October 5th as they try to get the season sweep at Peace.
