Volleyball picks up first win in first home game of the season

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College volleyball team earned their first win of the season in their first home match of the year against cross-town rivals Piedmont Bible College. Salem won in four sets (25-18, 23-25, 25-17, 25-21). Salem moves to 1-7 on the year with the victory.

Brittani Stewart (Mocksville, NC) had a strong match leading the Spirits with 14 kills and 3 block assists. Randi Roppolo (Weeki Wachee, FL) and Hart Wagner (Winston-Salem, NC) each had 11 kills. Wagner added 30 digs and Roppolo had 22 digs. Hannah Buff (Morganton, NC) had 28 digs for the Spirits. Both Emily Devane (Lillington, NC) and Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) had 23 set assists to lead Salem.

The Spirits return to action this weekend in two important Great South Athletic Conference matches at LaGrange against Piedmont and LaGrange.
