Volleyball loses heart-breaker to Agnes Scott in GSAC Championship

Agnes Scott Earns Conference Crown
 
Lauren Aikens led Agnes Scott (11-17, 6-1 GSAC) past Salem (9-16, 4-2 GSAC), 20-25, 25-13, 25-20, 25-12, in the Great South Athletic Conference Championship. The win earned the Scotties the conference crown and an automatic bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Volleyball Tournament.
 
Salem jumped out to a one-set lead, winning the first 25-20. Agnes Scott rebounded by hitting .306 in the second set, to the Spirits' .026 hit percentage.  The momentum stayed with the Scotties throughout the game.
 
Aikens tallied game-highs in kills (21), hitting percentage (.390) and blocks (7). Setter Shakirah Dodson had a game-high 42 assists in the win. Libero Shelli Sherman led the way with 26 digs.
 
Michelle Morgan led Salem with 12 kills on .241 hitting. Setter Chelsea Jones had a team-high 22 assists and a second-best 14 digs. Libero Zy Henderson had a team-high 22 digs. Amber Bass added 14 digs.
