    The Salem College softball program is excited to announce that Shelby Drummonds has committed to attend Salem this fall. Drummonds was a four-year varsity member. The Spirits softball team will begin a full schedule including Great South Athletic Conference play during the 2011-2012 school year.

    The Salem College softball program is pleased to announce that Kayla Kennedy has committed to attend Salem next fall. Settles was a five-year varsity member for Coach Roger Longwell and Coach Jerry Forbis, Jr. at Wayne Christian High School in Goldsboro, NC. The Spirits softball team will begin a full schedule including Great South Athletic Conference play during the 2011-2012 school year.
  • The Salem College Athletic Department Celebrates 2010-2011 Seasons

    The Salem College Athletic Department celebrated an excellent 2010-2011 school year with the 2011 Salem College Athletic Awards Ceremony in a packed Club Dining Room. The ceremony highlighted three department awards, NC All-State Awards, Great South Athletic Conference (GSAC) awards, and team awards and letter winners. The three department awards are voted on by the entire athletic department at Salem.
  • Softball wins first scrimmage against High Point University club team

    The Salem College softball team won their first scrimmage in a dominant fashion against the High Point University Club Team, 11-3. Lindsey Boening (Clemmons, NC) pitched all seven innings for the Spirits in a winning effort. Salem is playing a limited schedule this spring, before they enter a full Great South Athletic Conference schedule in 2012.

Settles was a four-year varsity member for Coach Scott Isley and Coach Woody Wall at Rockingham County High School in Reidsville, NC. The Spirits softball team will begin a full schedule including Great South Athletic Conference play during the 2011-2012 school year.

    The Salem College softball program is pleased to announce that Briana Lewis has committed to attend Salem next fall. Lewis was a four-year starter for Coach Meegan Wilmot and Coach Jeremy Ossler at Atlantic High School in Port Orange, FL. The Spirits softball team will begin a full schedule including Great South Athletic Conference play during the 2011-2012 school year.

Turner played for Coach Lisa Smith and Thurman Pate at South Lenoir High School in North Carolina. The Spirits softball team will begin a full schedule including Great South Athletic Conference play during the 2011-2012 school year.

  • Jenny Gustin added to softball staff

    Head Coach Scott Long has added Jenny Gustin to the Salem College softball program as an assistant coach, and Gustin will also be in charge of all camps and clinics. Gustin is currently a 6th and 7th grade Exceptional Children teacher at Walkertown Middle School.
  • Coach Long hires Ken Hunt as softball assistant coach

    The Salem College softball team has hired Ken Hunt as an assistant coach according to Head Coach Scott Long. Hunt comes to Salem after a successful coaching career at High Point Christian Academy (HPCA), where he was the head coach from 2005-2009. Hunt also has spent the past twenty-five years traveling the world with his adult softball teams.
